Work in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe, bordered by Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Poland. Prague (capital), Brno, Ostrava, and Plzeň are the country's main industrial, technological, and cultural centers. The Czech Republic has a developed, high-income export-oriented social market economy based in services, manufacturing, and innovation. It is a member of the EU and the Schengen Area. Non-EU nationals require an "Employee Card," which is a single permit authorizing both residence and employment in the Czech Republic. The application is submitted for a specific job vacancy.

OZO International manages the entire Employee Card process, from securing a qualified job offer to guiding you through the application at the embassy and final registration in the Czech Republic.

Czech Republic Employee Card Process

Follow this official process to obtain your Czech Employee Card and start your career in one of Europe's most dynamic economies.

1. Job Vacancy Registration

Your future employer must first report the job vacancy to the regional Labour Office of the Czech Republic and make it available to EU citizens.

2. Employee Card Application at Embassy

After the job is cleared for a non-EU national, you must apply for the Employee Card in person at a Czech embassy or consulate in your home country.

3. Application Approval & Visa Issuance

Your application is reviewed by the Czech Ministry of the Interior. Upon approval, the embassy will issue you a long-term visa for the purpose of collecting your Employee Card.

4. Travel to the Czech Republic

With your issued visa, you can now travel to the Czech Republic to finalize the process and collect your card.

5. Biometrics & Registration

Within 3 working days of arrival, you must register with the Foreign Police and visit the Ministry of the Interior to provide your biometric data.

6. Collect Your Employee Card

After biometric data is provided, your Employee Card will be produced and ready for collection, officially allowing you to start work.
